Venue: Poona Golf Club

The first leg of the SPT Sports Junior Golf Series took place in Pune at the Poona Golf Club. The tournament is spread over two days with the participants playing two rounds of 18 holes. There were 22 participants in three categories; under 11, 12-14 & 15-17 from both Pune and Mumbai. The tournament will be held four times a year in each zone. The next tournament will take place in Kolkata in the month of March. The top seven finishers in each group will be given points and the individual with the maximum number of points in each group at the end of the year will be awarded a prize.
The primary objective of holding this series of tournaments is to encourage young golfers across India and give them the opportunity to compete in a serious environment giving them the required exposure to excel in the sport.

Venue: Bombay Presidency Golf Club

The SPT Sports Junior Golf Series was recently concluded in Mumbai on December 27, 2007 at The Bombay Presidency Golf Club. It was spread over two days, Dec. 26-27, 2007 with young golfers of in different age groups of 15-17 years, 12-14 years and under 11 years from Western India competed against each other to win the title of Zonal Champion.

There were 38 participants from Mumbai, Pune and Vadodra competing in the last leg of the Series. The previous three legs were held in Pune and first seven positioned players in each leg were given points and these were accumulated over four legs of the tournament. In the last and final leg the participants with the maximum number of points in each category were given prizes such as TaylorMade Driver, Rescue Clubs, wedges, etc.
