Academy Structure
- Aims:
- To give all young players regardless of ability, genre or background the opportunity to come and enjoy playing football in a safe and friendly environment.
- To empower them with confidence, self belief and a love of playing the “Beautiful” game.
- To encourage them to think for themselves, develop their own self discipline and to respect others regardless of creed or culture.
- For them to have fun whilst learning new skills and tricks.
- To give them the opportunity to realise their full potential both as footballers, and as young members of our society.
- In the coming years, through quality training, the trainees at the Academy should be in a position to join national/international clubs.

"Coaches Clinic" Certificate in Coaching Football
On 24th of February, 2007 we launched the first SPT Football Coaches’ course. The qualification, entitled the 'SPT Level 1 Certificate in football coaching.
The course enables football coaches to develop a basic understanding of safe, ethical and effective football coaching.
The 6-day course covers a variety of theoretical and practical topics associated with coaching football to youngsters aged between 6-12 that the participants are able to take back to their respective clubs and schools.
After five days of tutoring every participant undertakes three examinations.
- Laws of the Game – Covering a wide span of rules and regulations of the game that are vital for every coach to understand.
- Theory assessment – The participant will all do a exam based on the theory work that was covered throughout the learning process.
- Practical assessment – All participants must complete a practical assessment and meet every requirement to gain the qualification.
We believe that coaching football or as a hobby is a responsible and rewarding role. The sports community has expectations of coaches' conduct and behavior that must be understood and supported by everybody.
