Q. What are the qualifying criteria in the playing ability test?
A. The qualifying score is 8 over par or better per round. The final score will be averaged out over two rounds for purpose of qualification. Seniors (above 50) get additional two strokes per round to qualify.
Q. What if I do not pass the Playing Ability portion of the course? Can I still gain certification?
A. 1. Provided you have passed the written and teaching aspects of the course and you are within four strokes of the target score. You may within a 12 month period, submit four attested scorecards with the appropriate target score or less on any championship course (6000+ yards). These cards must be attested by three individuals along with their scores on the same card, and signed by the local professional (four signatures). Fee: Rs. 500/-.
2. If your Playing Ability Test score is more than four strokes over the target score, then you must return to any certification site and simply redo the 2-day PAT. Fee: Rs. 1000/- + green fee.
Prior to submitting the appropriate scores, you will be an associate member.
Q. What if I do not pass the Verbal Teaching Test?
A. Provided you have passed the PAT, you must return to any certification course and redo the entire course excluding the PAT.
Q. What if I do not pass the Written Rules Test?
A. A. This may be redone on person-to-person verbal basis with any IGTF examiner. Fee: Rs. 500/-.
