We think beyond ‘just business’, we understand our responsibility, hence we engage proactively with the communities in which we live and work. We involve ourselves in fostering sports talent from the grassroots level in rural India. Our corporate responsibility initiatives are embedded into the company’s long term growth strategies. Our initiatives are “SOCCER A CHILD” and “VILLAGE PROGRAM”

SOCCER A CHILD

Is a rural grassroots initiative which involves engaging young kids in the game of soccer and helping them look at life differently. This program entails reaching out, distributing free footballs in the villages. This activity has two objectives – the first to encourage young rural India to engage in productive activities. The second is to enrich the football community to harness the power of sport to discipline youngsters and encourage positive social behaviour (As the game brings in discipline, values such as friendship, team work, commitment, etc and keeps them engaged, fit and healthy). We have carried out this program in nine villages already.

VILLAGE PROGRAM

In this initiative is done at two levels – one at the villages and other at district level. In village program, SPT Sports has adopted around five villages around Bangalore and provides free coaching to the young players. The students are given free football and kits in each village. Coaches visit these villages twice a week and coach and supervise the children. We started this program in January 2008 with 25 children in one village and now we have over 300 children across five villages. Our coaches have identified three potential players and have inducted them into a year long coaching program at our Academy.
At the second level, the same program is carried out in Mysore and Mandya, where Mysore has around 100 kids already and Mandya is soon catching up.

DREAM A DREAM

This is primarily an initiative of Dream a Dream team, an NGO empowering children from vulnerable backgrounds by developing life skills while at the same time sensitizing the community through active volunteering leading to a non-discriminatory society where unique differences are appreciated. Their Dream Football program is run in association with SPT Sports to help the children pick up essential life skills and enjoy themselves at the same time. SPT Sports provide children with free coaching at the Academy at no cost.

Get Involved:

If you wish to partner/associate with us in this initiative, get in touch with us or donate footballs / football equipment with your company logo printed on them. We shall distribute them in the villages for you or you could assist us in our endeavour by accompanying us during distribution to understand the other side of the spectrum.we would like corporates and individuals to associate with our initiatives and visit the school to spend time to take academic, sports or personality development sessions.
